BOILING POINT BURLESQUE

"BOILING POINT BURLESQUE" was an answer to summer jitters from many of The Slutcracker's original cast... A group of performers involved in The Slutcracker 2008 (ingeniously created by Vanessa White aka Sugar Dish) were itching to collaborate again on a summer burlesque show. Axe To Ice Productions had recently pulled off it's first event, and was planning on having a June show as its second feat; so the cast found its summer home! It was in this show that Karin's concept of having a "Core Performance Group" perform interstitial pieces throughout the show took root - a concept that thrives today within our monthly Bent Wit Cabaret shows. Because Burlesque can have a lot of lag time between numbers, the Core had the job of creating short silly farcical pieces to divert the audience's attention until the next main stage performance hit the stage. The show as a whole was a hit (we did it again in November), and some of our favorite pieces and characters from the night were wrapped up in those little moments of stolen limelight...
