"BENT WIT CABARET" is the latest generation of events to come from Axe To Ice Production's think-tank. Each Bent Wit brings you a new theme and a newer roster of artists to explore its meaning in a night of revelry to be remembered! Contemporary Cabaret to the core, and always interesting, we're in love with the artists we have had the pleasure to produce on our stage. It is a our mission to bring a diverse group to our audience each month, to host quality artists across all the Boston area communities and beyond, and to keep the night (and your attention) moving through cross-genre performances. In addition to guest artists, we have two hosts - Mary Dolan and UnAmerika's Sweetheart Karin Webb, as well as our House Band, the Elephant Tango Ensemble, and a corps of completely rockin performers, namely Sugar Dish, Lainey SchoolTree, and Femme Brulee. This show ran at the Oberon Theater in Harvard square for two years - 2010-2011. If you missed it, you missed one of the best shows to hit Boston ever! UNAMERIKA'S SWEETHEART KARIN WEBB:
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, HOST, CORPS PERFORMER
Karin is a character actor who has been performing since she was born, directing since she had siblings, and producing theater since her first sleepover... She has a BFA in Acting from Boston University, spent some time working on her Masters Degree at Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, has toured the country as a puppeteer and mask performer with Das Puppenspiel Puppet Theatre, and co-owns, produces, and performs with the two Boston based theatre companies Axe To Ice Productions and All The Kings Men. JILL GIBSON: PRODUCER, CORPS PERFORMER
Jill is a character actor and producer who has been forcing herself to say "ok, sure" to whatever comes her way this year, yielding positive results wherever she goes (you should try it). She has received nearly all of her performing and producing training first-hand with All The Kings Men, to whom she is heartily indebted both for the chance to be onstage and the push to try new things. She is also co-owner of Axe To Ice Productions, the company that produces Bent Wit Cabaret.

MARY DOLAN: HOST
Born in 1922, Mary grew up working in the tail end of the vaudeville heyday, singing and dancing all over the United States, and is pleased as punch to still be truckin' along. Hosting this cabaret and meeting so many talented young people has been a real treat. Catch Mary in everything from big Axe To Ice Shows to stand-up gigs around Boston and New York City, to The Slutcracker every holiday season, and for Chrissakes, find her on Facebook already!
UNAMERIKA'S SWEETHEART KARIN WEBB:
HOST, CORPS PERFORMER

SUGAR DISH: CORPS PERFORMER, CHOREOGRAPHER
Sugar Dish is a director and choreographer of theater and dance. She is the creator and director of The Slutcracker and founder of the award-winning burlesque ensembleBabes in Boinkland. Vanessa has toured as her burlesque alter-ego “Sugar Dish” in and around Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and Honduras; has performed with Richard Cheese and the Lounge Against the Machine, with Amanda Palmer and the Boston Pops, and performed for American military stationed in Honduras.
LAINEY SCHOOLTREE: CORPS PERFORMER, MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Ms. SchoolTree is a Boston-based composer, performer, audio engineer/producer, and a really good cook. With six years of working within the indie rock, comedy, and underground performance arts scenes in Boston, she's helped pioneer the neo-vaudeville movement, and with it had the honor of collaborating with many amazing creative minds here. She's currently finishing production on her first solo release, due this spring. She's also half of acclaimed music comedy duo The Steamy Bohemians, and co-creator/producer of their award-winning variety show Jerkus Circus."
FEMME BRULÉE: PRODUCER, CORPS PERFORMER, MEDIA FAIRY
Dancer, designer, crafter, and cupcake queen, Femme Brulée is a sugar coated sweetie with a soft center. Though she’s been dancing since the age of three, Femme didn’t find her way into the burlesque scene until about a year ago. Since then, she has appeared in The Slutcracker, Boiling Point Burlesque and Y’arr: A Pirate Cabaret. When not dancing, Femme Brulée can be found covered in glitter, making pasties that look like pastries.
ELEPHANT TANGO ENSEMBLE: HOUSE BAND
This band is the brainchild of Valerie Thompson (Voice/Cello), Vessela Stoyanova (MIDI Marimba), Brendan Burns (Guitar), & Nate Greenslit (Percussion). Vessela & Valerie also perform as Goli: a duo of misfit classical musicians with an appetite for world music that have cut their teeth in rock bands, world folk ensembles, symphony orchestras and the occasional free improv outlet. Brendan is a guitarist and educator in the greater Boston area. Nate is a prolific, genre-bending drummer, best known for his work with Boston-based bands like HUMANWINE and What Time Is It, Mr Fox.
AARON "ASH" COHEN: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Attended the University of Central Florida for theatrical tech/design, then promptly left the theatre world for several years. He recently returned to the (back)stage as a crew member on The Slutcracker, and since then has worked onSHOW as well as the premier of Bent Wit Cabaret. Aaron also works as an Undead Defense Coordinator, advising people on proper zombie defense. He also advises on issues involving vampires, mummies, and other such creatures.
